Lenovo Announces their first Netbook to use Intel's Atom N550 Processor

Following Intel's announcement of the new Atom N550 dual-core processor, Lenovo is one of the first to be out with an IdeaPad netbook model that makes use of it. The 1.50 GHz clocked Atom N550 is based on the second-generation Atom architecture.

I love my netbook but my two biggest complaints with it is a 1024x600 screen ( just a little too squat to work well with some applications), and the keyboard is a little small. This why I like adding 1.5 inches to the screen because you also get the full size keyboard to go along with it. You still maintain the lightness of the machine but these slight changes make it a much more enjoyable experience to use it.

With all of this said, this Lenovo product is still in the traditional 10.1 inch format, has 1gb DDR3 memory, 250gb storage, 802.11 a/b/n, a disappointing 10/100 network adapter, several USB ports and surprisingly Bluetooth 2.1. It sports a 1.3 megapixel webcam and it has a removable 5-in-1 card reader. This unit is running Windows 7 Starter Edition.

Pros: faster processor, faster RAM and Bluetooth

Cons: standard net book screen and keyboard, slow network adapter, 1.3 webcam and only 1gb RAM

Price is expected to be around $500.
