SSD’s – The Reasons to Implement Solid State Drive Technology in your Power PC

Intel is one of the major players in Sold State Drive Technology. When is it the right time to use SSD Technology vs. yesterday’s moving parts, rotating platter technologies. Intel's Director of SSD Product Marketing, Troy Winslow, discusses four reasons to consider whether SSD is the right fit for you. Visit RAM TECHINSIGHT to see Troy’s two videos discussing this great technology.

I got to sit in on a conversation with Jay Wilson today who is working with us to be a part of the SSD PC Upgrade Pilot Program. Intel has so many exciting things coming down the road this year that we are excited about. Not only are the drive prices coming down in price but the technology advances will be producing larger drives that will use less power and provide even faster access. When you look at Intel’s SSD drive specs you will see the reason why they are one of the leaders in this arena. Why is Intel so strong here? Jay explained to us how Intel is the only company that encompasses every aspect of SSD production in-house. They do their own research and design work on the software, controllers and flash technology. Their drives incorporate native SATA controllers unlike many other manufacturers that have to place bridging circuitry between their PATA drive and the SATA controller to connect it to computer system.

Intel’s video shown below will show these comparisons and how Intel’s will work better for your installation.
